Mexico Correspondence is a newsletter of, and about, foreign correspondence from Mexico. It is an independent publication launched in 2019 by me, Ann Louise Deslandes. It was called The Troubled Region until October 2026.

I'm a writer, journalist and researcher in Mexico, from where I've been reporting on Mexican politics and culture since 2016. I live in San Cristóbal de las Casas in the south of the country.
